Areas of Practice

For the past 14 years I have worked in the fitness industry training clients on a one to one basis as well as instructing group classes. In the past I have taught Step, Hi/Lo, Kickbox as well as Yoga and Stretch classes but my true passion is for interval training based classes. Whether on a bike or in the studio with weights, interval training is one of the most effective ways to keep cardio fitness at a high and body fat at a low!


My experience and love affair with fitness began in grade school when I stumbled onto the cross-country team and just kept running. Up until university I belonged to many running clubs including the Optimist Club, training out of York University and was lucky enough to have many wonderful coaches along the way. My love of fitness continued as I studied sports psychology at York University and eventually started to work with Women’s Fitness Clubs of Canada in 1997 as floor staff. Over the years I have started my own business, Brown Training Services, where I work with corporations as a Fitness Consultant, giving workshops on health and wellness as well as instructing classes and training clients in both corporate and private facilities.


I believe that fitness is a lifestyle and variety is the spice of life. In order to keep people excited about their routine it’s important to set short and long term goals. Whether it is one on one or in a group setting, I see my role as a coach and a motivator. I need to assess what’s needed to get YOU where you want to go, give YOU what you need to get there and then keep the fires burning until YOU arrive. Everyone wants to see results for their efforts and consistency gets results! I’m here to keep you on track.

Honours BA in Psychology, York University 1989 ,ACE (American Council of Exercise) certified Personal Trainer since 1998.
